Meet Our Houston
Marriage Counselors

Our licensed therapists have highly advanced and specialized training in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT). EFT is one of only two empirically supported couple’s counseling approaches (https://iceeft.com/). It has been tested in universities, hospitals, and counseling clinics across the world. Dr. Bradley, President of The Couple Zone, was one of the first EFT Certified Trainers in the world. He has published original research in the approach, and has published in many journal articles, book chapters, books, and workbooks. He currently gives ongoing consultation to therapists at The Couple Zone, and actively plans and oversees all ongoing training.

Our therapists have completed (or are currently completing) the Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy Externship, a 4-day, 32-hour intensive training led by ICEEFT Certified Trainers. Additionally, they have completed the EFT Advanced Core Skills Program, which involves four separate 2-day meetings of training, practicing, and the reviewing of recorded session work.

Currently, most of our therapists are further advancing their skills in a monthly EFT consultation group led by Dr. Bradley, published researcher and author in the approach. This group reviews cases, in-session recordings, and practices best ways to work through difficult couple situations.

We are constantly learning the newest research findings and sharpening our skills by attending the best professional trainings from the best scholars the field has to offer. This all gets passed directly to you in the form of outstanding care.

Erica primarily utilizes Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy when seeing couples. She also pulls from The Gottman Method and Internal Family Systems Theory. Erica earned a Master of Arts in Counseling from Houston Christian University, a nationally accredited program. She also sees Christian couples who want faith to be a more present element in their counseling.
